We have recently been asked for volunteer patients with Birdshot for third year Optometry students to examine. This is both for teaching, training purposes and also for their exams. This will take place in London close to Moorfields Eye Hospital at the Fight for Sight Optometry Clinic.
We are posting this because we wanted to help and wondered if there are any of our members who would like to volunteer to help with this important job.
The next exam dates when volunteers are needed are:
18th and 19th March 9.30-11.30am
and
25th and 26th March 1-3pm
There is a small cash incentive for willing volunteers: £15 per session and a maximum of £10 travel expenses.
It iss really important that the future opticians know more about our rare eye condition so volunteering for this is a really important first step towards ensuring better informed optometrists in the future.
