If you would like to help us raise funds towards research in Birdshot, you can do so by making a donation to the Uveitis Information Group and asking for it to go towards Research into Birdshot. We have a UK specialist keen to undertake this research, but we need to find the necessary funding to make it happen. We are hoping to raise £50,000 for it. All donations, however small, will be helpful.

We will begin this research with a BOSU (British Ophthalmological Surveillance Unit) study, which will look at the frequency of diagnosis of Birdshot in the UK and the incidence of Birdshot and plan to develop the initial survey so that we will eventually be able to gather information from as large a patient group as possible. It will be extremely helpful to establish just how many birdshot patients are diagnosed each year.
There are also plans to link up with similar groups of patients in Europe to increase the size of the study.
With your help we can make this happen and perhaps one day we will find out just why people get this potentially blinding condition and what can be done to stop it.
