It is with regret that we have to announce that Rea has decided to step down as a Director and Trustee of the Birdshot Uveitis Society. She has worked tirelessly over the last few years helping to set the charity up and has undertaken ground breaking work to establish the Society’s position both in the UK, Europe and the USA.
She has helped to get BUS and Birdshot better recognised by the leading uveitis clinicians in the world of Birdshot. As a result of this work a number of new Birdshot research projects are about to be launched.
We would like to thank her for all her hard work and wish her luck into the future. We hope to be able to build on the firm foundations that she has helped to establish.
Annie Folkard, John Hall, Peter Edney and David Bethell
Directors and Trustees of Birdshot Charity
Rea, thank you most sincerely for all you have done for what is now the birdshot community. You and Annie decided to get out there and get something going, rather than simply being patients with a rare condition. I do hope that you will continue to be involved with BUS in one way or another.
Bye bye Rea, you’ll be sadly missed indeed. Thank you so much for all your help & support with Colin in those oh so crucial early stages, following diagnosis & treatment. You & Annie got the ‘Birdshot Show’ on the road & have achieved so much. We do hope we see you again sometime. Good luck in all you do – Colin & Gail x
Rea, thank you so much for your energy and enthusiasm and your can do approach. I have really appreciated your personal support and your efforts to make us a collective voice. I’m sure we will all be seeing you various times! All the best. Adrian.
Rea, Thank you for giving so much of your time in raising public awareness of Birdshot. Prior to you and Annie setting up BUS there was very little information on Birdshot or contact with other Birdshotters. Good luck for the future. Lesley
