Last Friday, BUS Trustee and Director John Hall made a 400 mile round trip to attend a cheque presentation ceremony at Humber Oil Refinery.  Phillips66 workforce had managed to achieve 80 injury free days and as part of their Safety Recognition Scheme are able to offer a Phillips 66 Employee and Contractor Workgroup the opportunity to  nominate a particular charity to receive a donation of £3,000.   Birdshot Uveitis Society was nominated by Birdshot member Chris Hames, whose Phillips 66 Project and Construction workgroup supported the donation to  BUS. The generous donation is to go towards future Birdshot research.John was delighted to attend this  informal event where he was told more about this innovative safety scheme, followed by each Workgroup explaining how they came to choose their particular charity.  John spoke briefly about the Birdshot research work that is currently in the pipeline.

This is fantastic news for BUS and a great boost to funds that we can allocate to important research initiatives.   Our thanks go to Phillips 66 and their workforce for their support.
